Hula for Sport Relief

Today on Friday 19th March, students from Bebinton High Sports College took part in a Hula mega challenge in support of Sport Relief 2010.

The students’ hula hooped their way to prizes, in the school sports hall, gathering sponsor money for sport relief on the way. Each form in each year had the option of paying to enter the competition as a Hula Hooper or being a Hoopist supporter and donating sponsor money.

Wiggling away at 9am, the whole school gathered in the hall to watch as Director of Specialism Ms Jennings led the way by spinning two hoops around her waist at one time. Mr Jordan, Headteacher of Bebington High Sports College, said, “As a sports college we love getting our students and school actively involved as much as possible with Sport Relief, and this year emphasis was to get the students up and active as well as making them aware of that the money raised through Sport Relief will help people living incredibly tough lives in this country and poor countries around the world. All the students are really enthusiastic and could not wait to do their bit!”

The staff also got into the swing of things dressing up for the occasion and competing against students. Headteacher Mr Jordan plus a number of Teachers and Heads of Year raised money by agreeing to wear the opposing football team’s shirts of their favourite team if the students & staff raised enough money.

To an enormous cheer Manchester United Fan Mr Jordan and Everton Fans Mr Dutton and Mrs Deans all had to put on Liverpool Shirts in front of the clapping crowd. Other members of staff wore a range of alternate football clubs shirts, staff even dressed up for the day, some as students in full uniform to the amazement of all.
