5-a-side Football Tournament

Bebington High Sports College recently participated in a Merseyside 5-a-side Football Tournament which took place in Kirby, Liverpool. After winning a series of matches against St Augustines, St Edmunds and Bluecoat school, the Bebington High Students team remained un-beaten and were top of their group and they qualified through to the Semi finals against Rainhill.

The students then went on to win the semi-final against Rainhill and storming into the final with the top scorer of the tournament being Phil Hallett of Bebington High.

"The standard and quality of football played was astounding and was testament to the tremendous work of the teachers, coaches of all the schools who took part.

Unfortunately Bebington High lost the final against Halewood in the last kick of the game but came a impressive second place and were presented with commemorative medals.

Teacher Paul Connolly stated that “he was very proud of the boys and what they had achieved and is eagerly looking forward to next year’s competition”.
