Bebington High Sports College hosted a four day extravaganza of sport, dance and drama and nutrition for local community primary schools led by community coaches, PE and Sport Apprentices and our amazing sports leaders.
This year's festivals ran over four days in July for all years 1-6 in nine of our partner primary schools. Pupils were provided with a range of activities to participate in including hockey, drama, football, cricket, tag rugby, tennis, handball, dance and cookery. All pupils involved in the competitions aim to score points for their school, as well as achieving individual awards for fair play (in the 'Spirit of School Games') and outstanding performance throughout the day, which was followed by a presentation of awards and certificates to all participants.
Alison McGovern MP visited the school during the festival to see the range of activities taking place at the school and speak to some of the young Sports Leaders who were leading the sessions.
Director of Heath & Well-being Kev Byrne said "These days are always a huge success thanks to our community coaches, sports leaders, apprentices, PE department, and support staff. Over 1000 students have experienced new activities and competitive inter-school competitions at Bebington High Sports College. Thanks to parents, families and friends as well for supporting this event."
