Macmillan Design a Christmas Card Competition Winner (Friday 29th June 2007)

The Macmillan Design a Christmas Card competition was won by Katherine Baines, age 12, who is a year 7 pupil of Bebington High Sports College , with her design of a round robin.

Katherine entered the competition last December, to design a Christmas card, which would be created and sold by Macmillan Cancer Support to raise money for the charity. In February her design was chosen as the over all winner, from over 3000 children's designs that were entered.

Last week Katherine and her teacher Ms Keery, where taken to Wellingborough in Northants to visit the printers and watch her design being created. Katherine had to approve the final copy before it went into production, which will be on sale in August.

Katherine also received a goody bag from Macmillan and Bebington High Sports College received a gift of £500 to go towards the school fund.
