Sixth Form Dress Code

Dear Parent/Carer

As you are probably already aware, we are moving to a Sixth Form uniform in September.

This decision has not been taken lightly but it was felt to be a necessity having reviewed the issue we have had over the last 12 months. The students have been consulted over the changes and, indeed, the Sixth Form Council has selected a uniform that they feel comfortable with.

From September, all Sixth Form students will be expected to wear:

BOYS	GIRLS
Grey or black trousers	Grey or black school skirt (no shorter than an inch above the knee)
White shirt *embroidered with the school badge, purchased from Laser	White blouse *embroidered with the school badge, purchased from Laser
A school tie *embroidered with the school badge, purchased from Laser
Either a school pullover or a school cardigan *embroidered with the school badge, purchased from Laser	Either a school pullover or a school cardigan *embroidered with the school badge, purchased from Laser
Dark socks	Ankle, knee length or black/white/grey socks or plain black/grey tights
Black shoes	Black shoes
NO JEANS OR TRAINERS
*Compulsory items purchased from Laser Schoolwear (see attached)

Students who do not conform to the uniform policy will initially be given a warning, after this they will be sent home.

I have enclosed an order form for the compulsory items and directions to the Laser shop in case students wish to try the items on. Laser will also be bringing a representative to the Information Evening for the new Year 12 students on Thursday 14 July 7-8pm.

I am sure this will be a positive move for Sixth Form and should allow the staff/students the opportunity to concentrate on the most important aspect of their education which is their studies.
