Sixth Form Introduction

Students who wish to continue their studies post-16 stay on in our Sixth Form. We offer a variety of courses from GGSE's in Mathematics, English and Human Biology, plus BTEC First and National courses, applied and traditional AS and A2.

BHSC Sixth Form Centre has two central aims:

We encourage students to achieve academic excellence, by providing a rewarding post-16 educational experience. Ours is a Sixth Form where students are considered as mature young adults taking advantage of the opportunity to gain qualifications and experience which will benefit them throughout their lives. Individually tailored timetables ensure that appropriate curriculum choices may be made, which encompass Government recommendations for Post 16 education. Careers guidance of the highest calibre, and specialist assistance with regard to Further and Higher Education are available at all times. Work experience and community projects are actively encouraged. Our Learning Resource Centre offers a comprehensive information centre, and Sixth Form students also have exclusive access to a fully equipped Sixth Form study area with computer provision and Internet access, which enables them to enhance the quality and production of their work.
