5 Medals for Gifted & Talented Student

Daniel Goulding from Bebington High Sports College recently represented Wirral at the North West Regional Athletic Championships for Students with Special Needs, which was held at Sports City, Manchester in April of this year.

Daniel came away with a Bronze for the 60m Run, Silver for the 100m Run, Bronze for the Javelin Ball and Gold & Silver for the Club Throwing, resulting in an all-round tally of 5 winning medals for this determined athlete.

This was a brilliant achievement for the Year 9 student and it is a credit to all the hard work and effort put in not only by Daniel but by the other students from the school and Wirral who competed on this exciting day.

As a result of this achievement Daniel has now qualified for the National Athletic Championships, which will be held over a full weekend in Blackpool during July. We will keep our fingers crossed for this next step and wish Daniel all the best for Blackpool and the opportunity that it might give him to represent the country at the 2012 Paralympics.
